for 9 decades. Whilst we have steadily evolved to open our doors

we remain true to our original objective to create wealth for
our members and employees.
Our customer loyalty has been built on consistently good value
and unrivalled knowledgeable and friendly service from our staff.
We are very proud of our co-operative. It is more than a business.
It is more than a job. Over 9 decades we have become an integral
part of the rural community.
May I take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support.

Our heritage
Cornwall Farmers is one of the largest and most successful agricultural
co-operatives in the country. But what does it mean to be part
of a co-operative?
The story began in 1920 when 12 farmers met around a kitchen table
and agreed there was a better deal to be gained if they all bought
their supplies together. With one big order, a cheaper price was
obtained and the “profit” was shared amongst the members.
But there was a bigger gain than that! By talking to each other,
the original members of the club learnt better ways to farm profitably
from each others knowledge and experiences. Further, by placing
several deliveries on one lorry, they cut the costs of transporting
supplies to this corner of our country.
In short, they created wealth for themselves through co-operation.
That remains our mission to this very day.
Who and what is Cornwall Farmers?
Cornwall Farmers is a co-operative friendly society registered
with the Financial Services Authority under the provisions of
the Industrial and Provident Act. As such the co-operative is
run by its members for its members. Our board of directors is
elected from the membership and ensures the company is managed
in accordance with rules agreed at members meetings.
Your co-operative has grown consistently over the last 9 decades.
It now supplies approaching £70 million of products and
services each year and employs 350 staff.
