Duchy Commitment Plan Provides Discount on Cornwall Farmers' Winter Feed Prices

This year Cornwall Farmers are running an extended version of their annual Duchy Commitment Plan through which farmers can purchase their winter feed at preferential prices. In previous years this offer has been available only to farmers who visit the Cornwall Farmers stand at the Royal Cornwall Show. This year, Cornwall Farmers has made the offer open to all comers from 1st May until 30th June 2009, simply by contacting their local Cornwall Farmers representative. The preferential price is provided on a tracker basis, giving an approximate discount of £3 per tonne from the winter price list.

“This is more appropriate as it enables us to offer the Duchy Commitment Plan to farmers throughout the south west, many of whom were not really able to travel to the Royal Cornwall Show,’ says Tom Mann, Cornwall Farmers Duchy Blends Manager. “Now we can look after our customers further afield who are keen to commit to a certain quantity of winter feed and take advantage of the preferential prices available.”

Cornwall Farmers has also launched a special promotion linked to the high quality Kverneland Mixer Wagon range, which is now available from the co-operative. Cornwall Farmers are offering free nutritional advice for one year with each new Kverneland Feeder Wagon supplied, in addition to the manufacturer’s support. This will enable farmers to help ration and use the Mixer Wagon to obtain maximum benefit for their stock.
