FIRST FOR FORAGE GROWS INTO 'CF FORAGE'

Wednesday 20th February 2008

As part of Cornwall Farmer's ongoing re-branding exercise the organisation's dedicated forage business, First for Forage, has been re-branded as 'CF Forage'. The change took place at the start of January and is currently being implemented throughout the UK.

This is the latest development in the restructuring of Cornwall Farmers which commenced in 2004, and last year featured the introduction of a major new corporate identity alongside an improved members' benefits scheme.

"With First for Forage we have a national business which can really benefit from being more closely aligned with the activities of the Cornwall Farmers group", says Nigel Weaver, Cornwall Farmers' Group Sales Manager

"By bringing the business properly into the Cornwall Farmers family we are better able to share our knowledge across the country. For instance, one of our forage managers in Dorset is currently producing a special organic grass feed mix for a farmer in Cornwall. It's just one example of how the new business structure is better for our customers, better for everyone concerned," adds Mr Weaver. "Up to now we have had a business here with a strong service record in the south of England, and now we are providing the network for grassland farmers throughout the United Kingdom to have an input and share in the benefits of these highly specialized products."

CF Forage will continue to operate as a specialist business that concentrates solely on the supply of products designed to enhance the growth of maize and grass for the grassland farmer.

Products will be available through the network of 5 regional Forage Managers who work closely with the BOCM Pauls National sales team, reflecting that First for Forage began its commercial life as a BOCM Pauls product before becoming part of Cornwall Farmers in January 2002.

The launch of CF Forage reinforces the development of Cornwall Farmers into one of the largest and most successful agricultural co-operatives in the United Kingdom. The organisation trades across the entire south west peninsula in four main business areas which combine the farming and food industries with the outdoor life of the West Country's rural communities.
