Duchy College hosts first ever Lambing Event
25 Feb 2009
Students and staff from the agricultural department at Duchy College, Stoke Climsland are busy organising the first ever free lambing event, on Sunday 15th March. The event will be open to the public and has two sessions 11am-12.30pm or 1.30pm-3pm.
Visitors will have the opportunity to ride on the college tractor and trailer, talk to staff and students from Duchy College and hold new born lambs. Children will have the chance to enter a farm quiz and the chance to win a cuddly toy lamb.
Course Manager, Jeanette Elston commented: "Lambing is an important part of farming and we want to open up the farm to visitors to see how students and staff work at this time of year and provide a free event in the credit crunch to encourage people to engage with local countryside and enjoy a fun day out for all the family."
So if you fancy getting your wellington boots on and joining us up the farm, for further information on please call 01579 372233 or visit www.duchy.ac.uk.
