Cornwall Farmers Supporting Local Community

Thursday 9th April 2009

Cornwall Farmers’ Country Store at Holsworthy, which is open to the general public, recently held a very successful equine event at its Underlane property, customers from a very wide area flocked to view (and purchase) an astonishing range of equine products which our suppliers had displayed and supported, giving technical advice where necessary.

Mandy Colebrook-Clark, retail sales assistant with special responsibilities for equine products, said, “I had the idea of running a raffle for the Devon Air Ambulance prior to and at the event.  All suppliers participating and many others contributed an amazing array of prizes, which saw everyone dipping into their pockets to support a really worthy cause to the tune of £1,186.00.”  A cheque for which has been presented to Mr Arthur Newton on behalf of the Devon Air Ambulance.

The management and staff at Cornwall Farmers’ Country Store at Holsworthy would like to express their gratitude to all who attended the event and supported the day and raffle so generously.  We would like to give a special thanks to the lady from Woolsery who returned her draw prize for auction which boosted the donation to the Devon Air Ambulance fund by £400.00 and another special thanks to Jane Bridges from Canine Cuts who took time out of her very busy business to come along on the day and provide free dog grooming.  An enjoyable day was had by all.

We are planning a farmer’s day so watch this space!
