With first cut silage under way, plans now turn to the next crop, be it applying an aftercut fertilizer followed by a spray programme to control docks, nettles and thistles, suitable sprays would be Doxstar, Pastor or Thistlex or reseeding.

A reseeded ley will produce double the dry matter yield of continuous grassland as well as increasing ME, which means more milk and more meat.

Currently Cornwall Farmers can offer a special deal on CF Endurance grass seed mixture, a long term ley containing a mixture of Ryegrass, Timothy and Clover for grazing and 1 cut.  This mixture is now available at £25 per acre pack, while stocks last!
