VFM Teenage Cancer Trust Challenge

Wednesday 12th May 2010

On 20th and 21st May VFM Associates, Cornwall Farmers’ training partners, will be “cutting Cornwall in half” to support the Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT) – this is a physical challenge involving canoeing two estuaries, hiking and mountain biking.  All donations are welcome – and so are you!

The itinerary for the challenge will be:

Thursday 20th May

Depart by canoe from the Custom House Quay, Fowey 08.00hrs arrive Quay St. Lostwithiel 10.00hrs, distance 6 miles

Depart on foot Lostwithiel 10.30hrs, arrive Borough Arms, Dunmere, Bodmin 13.00hrs, distance 7 miles

Friday 21st May

Depart by bike Dunmere 10.30hrs, arrive Eddystone Road, Wadebridge 12.00hrs, distance 6 miles

Depart by canoe Wadebridge Town Quay 13.00hrs, arrive Rock Ferry Slipway, Rock 15.00hrs, distance 6 miles

Total distance 25miles.

TCT provides hospital rooms for teenagers – without these facilities teenagers would have to be on wards designed for children or adults – far from ideal when dealing with the issues surrounding cancer.
