Cornwall Farmers To Support The Westpoint Equine Fair
October 2010
Cornwall Farmers are increasing their level of support for their equine activities in the south west through sponsorship of the Supreme Events Arena at this year’s South West Christmas Equine Fair at Westpoint, Exeter on December 4th and 5th.
Over the years this event has grown into an impressive, two-day festival of Christmas shopping featuring all the major equine brands, plus entertainment on both days in the events ring. This year, one of the highlights of the events programme is the Pony Club Horse and Hound Show Jumping Challenge, which Cornwall Farmers are supporting with prizes for the winning rider. The Pony Club Challenge is as fun to watch as it is to take part in!
Each local Pony Club in the Challenge enters four pony riders and four runners with dogs, with the winners having to blend a high level of riding skill with quick and nimble work with their hounds. There are always a few mishaps along the way, but everyone enjoys it, animals and participants alike.
“We can’t wait to get involved with the Christmas Fair, as it is such a good event for us to meet with horse owners and find out first-hand the sort of products they need and want,” says Isobel Hanson, the Equine Category Manager at Cornwall Farmers.
“This is the first year we have been involved with sponsoring the event, having taken stand space only last year,” adds Isobel Hanson. “On stand this year will be a range of equestrian and country clothing and a selection of cool gifts for Christmas so we are looking forward to a great show. Our commitment to the equine market in the south west is really starting to become recognised now, with more visitors to our retail outlets seeking out the first class equine brands that we carry.”
Indeed, supporting this fact is the current promotion being organised by the Cornwall Farmers Country Store at Launceston, where a prize draw is being held for equine shoppers with tickets for the Westpoint event as the prize.
The Launceston Country Store is typical of Cornwall Farmers’ approach to looking after the needs of horse and pony owners in the region, being well stocked with a wide range of leading equine brands, including Horseware and WeatherBeeta rugs and Ariat equestrian footwear. Each Cornwall Farmers Country Store also includes a very good range of equestrian products to help keep both horse and rider warm, happy and healthy.
